Does anyone have recommendations for beginner tying classes this winter? The sooner the better.

Is this Glen from the Henry's Fork trip?

Go to one of the fly tying club meetings. Don't worry if you've never tied before. You will learn a lot.

Or call Fishtech or Western Rivers. They have classes sometimes.

Yes I am, I figure that if I really want to get into this sport I should learn how to tie my own flies. My friends who do tie have all recommended taking a formal class as the way to go.

I will try to make some of your meetings also, they sound like a great way to learn a whole lot about what works locally

thanks Fred

try Hooked in Kaysville, James does a good job with the class, seems like it was $20-$25, I can't remember

Glen, we will most likely be putting together a couple UOTFly fly tying classes here soon, beginner and intermediate/advance. Keep checking back for details. If you have questions shoot me an email.

Thanks Jason,

I heard from Alan at Western and they are planning classes too. I hope to take either theirs or get in on a UTOTF class

If you don't mind driving up to Ogden once a week, High Country Fly Fishers will have classes all through the winter. Call 801-475-5515 for more info.

Glen, I talked to Alan and Steve at Western Rivers tonight and we will be doing a couple UOTFly/WR fly tying classes starting in January, both a beginner and an intermediate/advanced class. We did this last year as well. IT worked out great. I will be posting details in the next couple weeks.
