thanks.
I was thinking of tying up some soft hackles with a brown mottled partridge feather and some brown thread or dubbing as an emerger, cripple, spinner imitation. What do you think? Will they throw me off the Ranch?

Unless you're planning on fishing them as a dry fly, don't bother. There's too many weeds to fish nymphs or even a dropper. You'll probably just end up snagging a lot of weeds. Good dry flies will probably be all you really need. As far as emergers go, a good CDC mahogany emerger might be a good choice if you get into a good hatch. Right now the mahoganys are sporatic but with a little cloud cover and right situation we may see some heavy hatches. Keep your fingers crossed.
Lets see this weekend is the trip??? Darn Dang. I should've tied up some of my chain-stitched mahogany duns for you to try.

Too bad. I would have enjoyed trying them.
