View Full Version : Late Notice South Fork of Ogden
I'll be on the South Fork of the Ogden today between noon until late afternoon. If you can sneak up there, I'm looking for anyone who can fish a Looped Foam Fly (provided by me) and catch some fish. I'll be taking photos of the fish caught with the pattern for an upcoming article. If you want to give it a shot, I'll be around the South Fork Campground to start out. Red S-10 Blazer. I'll be the ugly looking creature wading up the river.

Sorry to have missed you. I have been on that for the last two weeks and killing them! Get with me again, and let me know in advance. Me and ChucknDuck will have to get with you. We have been getting some real nice ones there! Call me! Get with Lowcountry, he has my number!
Blender and Boomer it was nice meeting you. Sorry the catching wasn't as good as I wanted it. I was able to get about 10 photos.
Not sure where I lost you Blender. Hope getting out was worth the trip.
Boomer, did you notice the Ogden in the canyon on the way down? Looked like the water was up a little more. May fish well now.
Steelies, I'll try to hook up with you on another day.
Thanks again guys!

Robert, I still have one of the flies left and I will be on the Green this weekend. Hopfully I can get a picture of a good fish caught on it and send it to you. Boomer

Sorry I missed you. I fished for a while longer but was having an absolutely terrible time. I waded down stream a ways and didn't see you guys so I decided to just pack in in before I hurt myself.
I didn't even get a bite, but judging from your (and my past) experience, it was the fly fisherman - not the fly.
Maybe we'll hook up some time in the future and it will work out better.
Blender,
I feel kind of bad for you coming all the way up and then having a bad day. I walked down below the campground and fished for a while. When I came back up to the bridge your car was gone.
E-mail me your address and your favorite fly pattern and I'll send you a dozen. Don't decline, I think I owe it to you for your troubles.

I think I would benefit from your on-stream tutelage as much as your flies. How about we arrange a fishing expedition in the next couple of weeks (with my schedule, stuff I've planned in advance just always seems to work better) and you can show me how to fish (and share your flies :) then?
Like I said, I didn't even get a hit after we parted and I tend to think the fly fisherman was more to blame than the fly. Other than when Trout4x took me out on the Blacksmith Fork, I have yet to even see a fish while on a river.

RAW ROX
I promised 4X I would come up to his neck of the woods to fish sometime this fall. Let's watch the weather and if we get a burst of Indian Summer we'll do it. Of course, he may cancell out with all the hunting coming up. Even if the weather is a little dreary, we could do well on some BWO. I'll let you know in advance.
