Check with the Recreation Dept. at Weber State. They usually update their equipment every so often and may have well used stuff to sell. Look in the Ogden phone directory.

Thanks for the lead, Rod. What sort of work does it need? does it appear to be seaworthy? I'm liking the price.

It is fiberglass over wood. There would need to be some repair on the floor, one hole that was previously patched about the size of a dinner plate and refinishing all the wood. It would probably float now but I would do some repairs first. The paddles come with it too! I don't know that much about repairing canoes but you mioght want to look into it. There is also a kiak (sp?) there.
Good luck

Your advice worked out well. I bought a canoe last week at Weber State's semi-annual gear sale. I'll now be scaring fish in style. Thanks.

Dr. Trout, Can you give me the details on the used equipment sale that Weber has? I am thinking about buying a raft for some float trips. I have seen their rafts and am just wondering how much they were selling for. Also when is their next sale. Thanks, Boomer

Weber State has one sale in the fall and one in the spring (I'm not usre of the dates). They did have two large rafts for sale. I think that the price was $450.00 each (but I'm not positive). The two rafts were the first things to go. Apparently the persons who got the rafts camped out the night before to sale in order to be first in line (Weber hands out numbers which determine when you can enter the sale). I arrived 6 hours early and was the 9th person to enter.
