I'm hitting the Green with some friends the second weekend of November. I've fished the river once so I'm not familiar with patterns on the river. How about some help so I can get tying. Any good fishing techniques would help also.
Thanks
Should be great streamer fishing. And the typical itty-bitty midge nymphs and scuds. Maybe still some microbaetis comming off.
I'd probably throw streamers all day - Kiwi muddlers would be my first choice.
Good suggestions from Cary.
I was there in early-November last year. A lot of people are throwing glo bugs that time of year and you will hear a lot of people recommend that approach. I would avoid that approach and also avoid fishing in the redds. Instead, I would use small midge patterns and RS2s. Think small and fish the seams with a nymph rig. That's what I would do.

It's been hard lately to get accurate fishing reports because of all the website changes that have been going on for the Green River. The guides complain there's no one fishing because of the recent fire even though the fishing is good, but because of all the problems getting information no wonder people are staying away.
You can try here to get information on patterns:

Some weeks they post good detailed info, other weeks not. They also have a list of flies and name the Hot Six. If you read it as your trip approaches, you should get a good feel as to what's working.

You can get that report via email, which helps with some of the web site problems. The big problem with the Hot Six they list is they never change much. I believe they still have Cicadas on their Hot Six, and a Cicada would be the last thing I would look to try this time of year!
