Where is it? I used the search feature and looked in the recipes, and I couldn't find anything.

My BWO nymph has been the goto baetis pattern in the spring and fall. There's really nothing to it other than it needs to be tied in the right size. In the fall a size 20 will be the key size on our local waters. Even a size 22. Fish it right on the bottom with a split shot about 12 inches above it. You'll kill em' this time of year.
As for the $15 skin. I got mine at a local fly shop that is no longer in business about 3 years ago. They had tons of skins and were selling them cheap. Go shop around if you're worried about getting the best price. Better yet, go into a fly shop and ask for a lower price than advertised. You never know, they might do it.
This might be a dead end idea, but I've heard of guys going to the local hunting clubs and asking them for any spare skins. Pheasants, duck, goose, grouse, partridge, etc. You never know, you might hit the jack pot if someone is willing to help you out.
Anybody familiar with our local hunting clubs? Web sites?

There are tons of guys using this site that hunt grouse, pheasant, and waterfowl. I suspect that they as do I, throw-away many good skins every year. I personally could never use all of the feathers from the birds I bring home every year. I think you have a great resource here on this very site. Jason, you ever need any of these things give me a call or shoot me an email. I'll hook you up! If any of you other guys need any grouse feathers check out the post on Currant creek. Those guys are all planning to hunt grouse here in the upcomming weeks. Duck and goose hunting begins in just a few short weeks. Pheasant clubs usually have a cleaning and processing facility. Like Jason said they throw away tons of feathers I would imagine.

My uncle had a pheasant farm a few years back. For a few bucks my cousin would collect every color skin they had on hand for me. He thought it was really cool to get paid to skin the birds for the hunters and then get paid for the skins also. I tell you I would have paid a lot more for the great job he did keeping the skins in one piece. In one year I had every color of pheasant hackle I can think of. Rooster and Hen. I am however missing a golden hen, very hard to come by.
In fact, brings out one question.
I have several boxes of hackle that are a couple of years old. How long will the hackle stay viable, or at least flexible enough to keep from turning to dust when using it?
