I will be teaching a fly tying class this fall for the Jordan School District Community Ed program. The class will be held at Oquirrh Hills Middle School in Riverton every Thursday night starting Sept 19th from 6-8:00pm and lasting 6 weeks. The cost is $32. A $15 materials fee will also be collected on the first night of class.

Oquirrh Hills Middle School is located at:
12949 S. 2700 W.
Riverton, UT

Send your check and registration form to the above address, attention Sharon Shirley. Checks should be written out to Jordan School District. Registration deadline is Sept 6th.

The class is designed for the beginner. Learn the basic principles of fly tying including the use of a vise, tools, materials, and the various techniques used to tie fish-catching flies. Nymphs, wet flies, streamers, and dry flies will be covered in detail. I strongly encourage you to bring your own vise and tools if you have them. If not, I will provide you with the needed supplies and tools. Class size is limited to 10. If you have any questions about the class shoot me an email. Thanks.

To register, print this form and mail it in along with your check. Deadline is Sept 6th.

Man! I've got to move back up North! The things I miss out on...

I want to learn to tie from a good teacher. Maybe in the future...

Have you looked into the Jack Dennis series?
I know its not hands on, but there is good stuff there.
Does'nt Red Rocks Fly Shop have any kind of classes?
Certainly they could lead you towards someone who could help out.

Yea Red Rock Flyshop is still here. They are located on Sunset Drive now. (The west end of town)

I have mixed feelings about learning to tie from someone at Red Rock. I haven't received very consistant service from them. Sometimes they are way cool and other times cold as ice. It would be way cooler to learn to tie from someone on UOTF anyway!

But, even if I can learn to tie down here, I still miss out on some stuff here. ( I would love to be shooting the poop with you guys at CC on Saturday ) oh well
