Well, my long awaited Wind River trip just fell apart as both of my friends got tied up. So here I am with a week off work and nothing planned. Even though I just got back from the Bighorn a day ago, I still have an unquenchable thirst to fish (go figure). If anybody wants to fish anywhere anytime this week, let me know soon.

I have not been in the Uintas all year. Just tell me what day you want to go.

Do you want to hit the Uintas instead of the Weber?

I'm already going to the Uintahs this weekend. My wife works on Friday, after she is done we are heading up there. We're going to hike into Amethyst Lake on Saturday. I've never been to amethyst so I don't know how good of fishing it is, I'll find out though.
I want to fill my Friday morning up and it's best that I go somewhere close to home. I'm actually going to another river close by the Weber, it's worth going, nice fish!!! I know you're in Sandy so it's up to you if you want to make the drive.

icthys let me know how your fishing went. Both the river and the lake you hike into.
Still haven't found your net.

I had a pretty great weekend of fishing. I fished the river on friday afternoon and after not catching anything along the stretch I was on I ended up at a big deep hole. I caught two of the bigger browns that I've ever caught. Both of them were about 5 lbs! Unfortunately I don't have a camera to take so I didn't get any pictures. I also hooked one fish on a chernobyl ant that had been feeding on the surface. As soon as I hooked him he dove straight down into the pool, he snapped my line like it was sewing thread, he had to be large.
Then Saturday I hiked up to Amethyst Lake in the Uintah's. I didn't fish the lake but I wanted a challenge and fished the stream that runs through one of the meadows up there. This was difficult fishing. The wate moves so slow and is so clear that those fish could sense any movement and after they saw anything were frantic. I got down low, made long casts and had a lot of fun!!!
Like I said, great weekend!

In your post you mentioned the river, is that the river you and I fished at? If so did you find your net?
Congrats. on the fishing.
Hope to fish again with you soon.

I'm not going up this week, I sure wouldn't mind though.
