I think we are planning on floating in the canyon from Prichard the east table (the section Crosby suggested in an earlier post). I am wondering about a shuttle, or should I just plan on hitching a ride? Who provides shuttles up there?

Hitchin in that area works pretty well as there are a number of river rats in the area that hitch all the time.

Rapso is right- many river rats that will give you a ride-- I always
put in- leave a buddy there or chain the pontoon to a tree- take the truck down and hitch back up- easier to get a ride dry than soaked. But then I think people don't fear the hitch hiker that has waders on.

CROSBY
I have always had to chuckle about this one.
I hitched all over the place as a fisherman, and I quite often displayed a large Buck Knife that also held my forceps. (Knife? I don't know? Daniel Boone thing)
People would pick me up no problem.

But breakdown somewhere dressed in nice slacks and shirt, and try to hitch a ride.....forget it! :)

You know it- last week flaoting a river- left my buddy with the boats- drove down 8 miles- got out- still dressed 1/2 way decently- like I was going to play golf------ 10 cars passed me like I was the plaque. By then I was getting pretty hot- took iff my shirt and tied it around my head like the shiek of the north- next car picked me up------- go figure.

Who knows what the driver that picked you up was hoping for?

Trout4X- I do have nice legs (o:---- But nothing worked Sat. Hiked my pant leg up nothing----- no less than 15 cars passed me by-
Finally when I was about to bag the idea- a guy yelled" hang on to the tail gate". 7 miles later and 50#'s of dust later they stopped- 2 miles short of my put in------- hiked another mile and another guy yelled- " hang on to the tail gate". then the people who first dropped me off flew by me- I guess I hadn't eaten enough dust. Stared at 1: 30- got to my put in at 3:15. Really need a trail 90 or something to mount to the front of my trailer.
So Sunday I went over to my buddies place to throw on his 125 that he had bartered for just for this- he bartered again with the 125 and got a toyota land cruiser that only has 75,000 on it.
Couldn't get that on my trailer---- had to forget it and play the
Millville open ping pong assoc. championships and bull about what I would have caught if I had gone---- But I did get free shrimp on the barbie and free libations.

You just have to remember the first rule in the book about hitch hiking. ok just kidding (if you have seen Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back you will know what I am refering to). And Moke it's because of the knee pads that you get picked up. hehe
