black canyon / daniel's reservoir

Have a friend flying in from out of state for our annual golf/fish marathon week (golf in morning, fish in evening, have a few beers and do it all again the next day - does it get any better???)

I take him to Daniels every year and usually have pretty good late evening success this time of year - any input this "dry" year? Also, any input on the Black Canyon stretch of the Bear? He goes crazy over our f/fishing in N. Utah & S. Idaho.

He's my own personal monster - I created him. Didn't even know what fly fishing was about when we met 20 years ago. Gotta show him a good time.

Nothing wrong with golf and fishing in the same day...enjoy. Strawberry, then Middle Provo, then Wasatch Mountain makes for a full day. I've gone to Wasatch Mountain several times after some float tubing at Soldier Creek. The fish are always biting at the golf course.

Where is Daniels Reservoir? I keep hearing about this place. I was under the impression that it was close to Strawberry, but that is just the name of the canyon. Is this the reservoir in Idaho?

It's in Idaho in the middle of nowhere. Actually, near Malad.
