Is it just my computer or are other people experiencing significant wait time while pages on the site load?

I'm having the same problem and I'm hooked up to a T1 connection at work. Mike would you e-mail me I have some ???
The server is sitting on a pipe a lot bigger than a T1 -- so maybe there are some peering issues at play here. I will have to do some further diagnosis and see what can be sorted out!
mine is really slow, as of the last week or so, it used to be click on it and it was up, now it is like my dial up at home. But what do I know I am just a dumb construction guy. It seems as though it is just this site because another site I look at is still just as fast as before.

I'm connected with a 56k modem that has worked great before. I don't seem to have any problems with other sites though?
Maybe the wire gremlins are having some fun.

Maybe this is an anti-Apple thing.
Mike., I connect either at home on a 56k or at work on a line that is usually blazing. about 2 weeks ago (just about the time VFS shifted: hmm, parallel universe) this site got very slow for me both at work and at home. apple, g4, osX, netscape 6, etc.
and no, i am NOT going to explorer or windows so don't ask!!
That's odd... I have looked into the situation pretty extensively and it's not the server per se and there are no hardware problems apparent where I'm hosting the server. Are you running OS X by chance jdubya? I'd like you to run a traceroute to the server here. I can tell you how to do that... Anyone else who has slow access and knows what a traceroute is, I'll need one to further diagnose the problem. Also, emptying your browser cache sometimes helps these sorts of inexplicable problems...
I have the issue on this site as well, but only on rare occasions.
I regularly have this same issue on the Nor Cal forum though. Is this worth mentioning to that administrator?
I am running OS-X, if I can help out let me know.
Cox High Speed Cable access as well.
FWIW, I'm a computer retard, so you will have to speak in small slow words :)
MOKE
Moke -- if your problem here is only intermittent than it's most likely a temporary network problem somewhere between here and there. (a traceroute can generally diagnose that) This site has a very large amount of "burstable bandwidth" -- nobody should ever have any problems with network speed. The server here is also generally under a very small processor load, so it's not the physical server that's ever causing the slow down. That basically leaves sundry network or "personal" computing problems!
As far as the other server goes, you may want to mention it... If it's like that all the time however, chances are the bandwidth there is somewhat tapped out or the server is just under an incredible processor load.
Mine has been running slower over the past couple weeks as well. I'm using DSL. It takes a lot longer to load pages than it used to.
Out of curiosity... Any better now?
Interesting... If some of you other guys who have been having slower access now see things returning to their original speed, please let me know...

I don't remember this site ever being slow for me. I was using Internet Explorer 6 and now Netscape 7 at work and at home. I have Windows 2000 at work and Windows XP at home. I have 960K download at home (DSL) and comparable speed (shared) at work. The amount of data contained in each page is probably fairly small other than when containing images, so 56K should be fine. Responses from the server have always been quick.
