View Full Version : High Country Tying Demo in Ogden
Paul Stimpson, professional tier from Ogden, put on a great demo this morning. He tied the different stages of a mayflies life cycle using patterns created by Rene Harrop. Along with the tying steps came Paul's insights and expertise in explaining when and how to most effectively fish a mayfly hatch. Always a joy to watch Paul tie. Thanks Paul. These demos are free to the public so lets support shops that provide these opportunities.

I would have came down myself again but I had other commitments. I'll try next Saturday.

Paul spoke and tied for over three hours. He was so entertaining that no one cared about the time. The participation from all those who were there made it even more fun.
This Saturday the 26th will be Wes Johnson, don't miss it.

What type of patterns will Wes be tying.
By the way I really enjoyed Pauls tying Saturday. I learned a lot of new Ideas on tying and life cycle approaches when tying. Thanks
Craig,
I believe Wes will be talking about Utah's Blue Ribbon Fisheries and conservation issues. It will be well worth the time. Wes is probably more involved in helping protect Utah fisheries than anyone I know. He is the president of several organizations including Utah's TU. He can give information on how we can become involved in protecting our fisheries...I hear he's a pretty good fly fisher too. I have to work, but will try to sneak away for a couple hours if I can. Hope to see you there.
