Where would one go for bass,or panfish, that is off of a major hiway and within 45 min. to 1 hour of slc and with out a boat or float tube?

What types of flys and size of?

What would be some useful techniques?

Is there public access?

Where can I park?

How do I get their by foot?

Are there Rattlers there?

Are you planning on this week, next or just in case?

Have you ever fish that pond that is right off I-80 on the way to Tooele? Its probably only about 45 minutes away. I've heard it is full of bass and bluegill. Float tubeable. I've never fished it, only heard about it from friends and on Doug Miller once a long time ago. Hopefully I didn't just let someones cat out of the bag and there will be 6000 extra fisherman in float tubes heading out there this week trying to land a monster bluegill.

Otherwise there are a lot of places on Utah Lake that could keep you in bass and bluegill all day. It's close. Or Pineview is close, it's nicer scenery and you could catch perch, bass, bluegill all day there to. You may even be landing a perch and have a monster muskie take you for a ride.

I hit mantua on Sat and Sun both. The damsel flys are on and the small mouth bass are lovin' it.

I spent several hours in my tube and although I never caught a 'bow, I did nail the SMB and bluegills.

I am beginning to wonder if there are any 'bows in that res....

I saw some nice rainbows there last time. There was one bow cruising around that was apparently over 20 inches. I landed a 14-15 inch bow the time before that put up an amazing fight. Mostly, I was just having fun catching the bass.

Check out Bountiful pond. Lots of tiny bass. You could wade out a ways too.
