Saw this on the Tribune web site. What flies would you use?

I'm not sure what flies to use...maybe some type of frog pattern. Might have to go to a steel leader. This fish may just be the answer to the problem at Strawberry. Shortage of rotenone? Just drop a bucket full of Frankenfish in and let em chomp away!
I posted on this guy a little bit ago....here is additional info

I have posted 2 URLs on my reply in this thread.
It is definetly OK to kill this! No C&R!

If they can walk you can just pull into any of the marinas at Strawberry and kick them out the door and they can walk into the Chub cafe!
You gave me a good idea Trout4x.
Moke, Lets make little leashes for them and then sell them as the newest pet craze in CA. Everyone can go out in the evening and walk their Frankenfish. LOL

I think I would have to go with tying up a small poodle pattern, or possible a brown yappy chiwawa -- I haven't found a really good rod for casting these patterns yet, but still looking. ;)
You forgot the need for a muzzle so it doesn't eat Yuppie Wife Toes and Drop-Kick sized dogs :)

actually there is a trout in russia/mongolia called the taimen that would take a poodle pattern. They can get over 100 lbs.
Now you've really done it raposaNegra!! How many are now booking trips to Russia to fish for them 100lb taimen? You hot spotter! Hey, anyone seen my poodle? LOL

I guess you could go to your local IFA and buy some ducks and use for bait, see if you could catch a few prairie dogs as well, slip a hook in and hold on.
I thought casting a big streamer would be a challenge.
