I purchased this real to match up with my Sage XP. It balances very well with that rod. The disk drag is superior. I have had to fight a number of big fish, but it has performed. The start up is smooth, too. I hardly have to turn up the drag for trout. I do worry about losing the drag knob, since you have to remove it each time you change spools. I haven't lost it yet, and hope not to. The price is moderate to high.
