Hi,
I've never posted on this site, and I haven't listed any personal information on my profile, but I'm looking for someone to trust me by purchasing some never used high end equipment, including a reel that has been discontinued for some time. I'll even give you a nearly 5% discount from original MSRP. This is a great deal for me, so I'm hoping to find someone who I can give the impression that their money is buying an image and status upgrade.

What a steal?

Wow! That doesn't sound pretentious at all. I deal with some pretty snotty, millionare a-holes on a regular basis, but that just might be the most ostentatious, haughty, self-important thing I've heard in a while. The only think missing is the "for the discerning fly-fisher" line. Unfortunately for you there isn't a Robb Report for fly fishing.

900 bones for a small stream 2 wt? Let me ask you a question: when you're flipping a fly around (mostly on your flouro) in an brush-covered area with a 6-foot diameter, does the action in the T&T make your loins stir?

Besides that, your reply was one big run on sentence.

Raff, he probobly has someone shake his rod for him. it's to much to get out of the easy chair with the sipping tea.

Maybe your friend was right. Maybe he knew you'd come in with the wrong attitude.

Know your customer. Know your market.

-How many listings in this forum, even for brand new equipment, have sold here for less than a 20% markdown?

-Ross is relatively local, so it doesn't carry quite the collector status in this area. Full retail for a discontinued model that was not scarce in the first place doesn't hold much weight.

-How many T&T dealers are there here in Utah? Did you even look int the possible demand here? Not knocking the brand, but T&T holds much more respect on the east side of the country. In the west, they have to compete against Winston for the market segment.

-Be more respectful of the replies you get. They may be smartass responses, but if you respond in kind you're more likely to generate animosity against yourself than the other person. Not good sales tactics.

-You expect us to trust you when you don't list any contact info?

thanks, your right. one smart ass response followed by another makes for very boring conversation. it was good to hear from someone who actually get out there. your opinion is welcome. if someone make me a reasonable offer great.
just got home from being on the river,it was a good day.

I will stick with my w.w.grigg set up and aquire as many flies as I can get! It is more important to get to the fishing hole and talk to the fish. The fish don't care how much you spend or what label you have printed on your gear. Exceptional quality is great if you have the money, but I think the feeling is the same when you finally catch one because you took the time to read the river and get to know and use what gear you can afford. Good luck selling that equipment gfly.

I'm just getting into fly-fishing. This seems like a good deal. You seem like a 'stand-up guy'. I'm feeling lucky. Tell me more.

trying to crank out a sewer pickle.

I have three Ross SMs, they dont get much use these days. They are not that good, and there is a reason they were discontinued. Although the drag seems very smooth and the retieve watch-like, under stress the reel falls apart.

"Fly outfit needs to go to a good home?" LOL.
If I listen closely, will the rod tell me when Timmy is stuck in the well?
