Any pointers for streamer patterns, sizes, and strategy on the Lower Provo?

Black and purple in size 8 and 10 have usually been my favorite colors/sizes on the LP. Brown and olive have produced at times as well. All I do is cast to the opposite bank and strip as it drifts. When it gets below you, continue to strip it in to you. Many hits happen that way. I have also seen many fish taken on the dead drift of a bugger, but I have never had success personally that way.

Sculpin patterns in olive and brown in a size 6 have always produced for me. I would say its just like any time you throw streamers. Color, size and presentation are more important than what the pattern really is.

Well, I fish a lot more now, which was unforeseen and still may change.
Life is good.

How are the Uintas treating you?
I'm headed to the Boulders next weekend, and I can't frakkin' wait.
Float tubin for monster brookies, should be awesome.

I fished them today after the bust at strawberry and got 4 on the streamer. Cast across, strip, strip, swing. Take a step down. Had a wet fly off the back of the streamer and picked up some nice fish on it. Cort

my last streamer-caught fish on the LP was Thursday, late evening, on the dangle while wading to get a closer look at the fish that was slashing the surface of the water chasing my buddy's mouse...

What I have found so far is the more fish I actually catch, the less I know about strategy.

Can fish sense anxious anticipation through our line to the fly? Because they rarely seem to bite when they are supposed to, as in when I am using the ideal fly, displaying flawless technique and casting with lethal accuracy. As soon as I let my guard down or botch a cast or quit paying attention, more often then not, the pull comes. And while I pretend it was all by design, and hold up the fish for all the world to see, I know deep down that mother nature has once again debunked the importance of "my strategy".

Yes Tyson, that's why my strategy is to not have one! And it works, um, all the time!
