Anyone have the latest on the Hebgen dam gate failure and what had been done to repair it?

As of the 13th Hebgen Dam is blowing out 3,130 CFS. It has gone down 100 CFS since Thursday..... It was "supposed" to be fixed days ago.

That a bummer man! But the good thing is I'll have to branch out a bit for my out of state Oct trip. I just feel bad for all of the people of there making a living of the river like lodging, shops, guides, restaurants, gas stations etc. It's hard enough as it is up there with there income being so seasonal. It's going to be a rough time to come for a lot of them!

During the Month of July and August, Hebgen Lake was 99-100% full. Today it is 77% full, and the Madison River is still flowing at 3,050 at the damn, down some but a long ways to go. Doesn't that just suck hard core nuttage?

I'll still run a hopper, copper and a dropper through there.( just to be on the safe side)

good news!

"the logs are in place and they have the flow cut to 2200 cfs. They have contacted FWP and will now lower the flow 400 cfs per day for the next few days. No word on a target flow yet but I assume it’ll end up near 7 or 800 cfs. Needless to say this is outstanding news! We should still end up with about a foot and a half of water elevation over that March first level. If they can get the flows down to seasonal levels and we get some good precipitation here in the next few weeks before things freeze up we could even have some positive gain before winter starts. (the inflow into the lake was 900+ cfs this morning)"
