I am planning a backpacking trip in a few weeks into Big Creek, ID. I would appreciate any helpful information anyone could give me.

Yeah but can the guy in Boston tell your girl friend to tell you to tell Tight about Big Creek other than it's got nice West Slope cutts. (0:

Where are you backpacking from / to?

In my experience, most of the rivers up there have ravenous fish that will smash anything that hits the water, but most of the fish are 6" or less..... Depends on where you're planning on fishing.

A few years ago I had a couple of buddies pack in there. I think they camped on or very close to the Middle Fork and then hiked in . They said one day they were up 6 or 7 miles I think. What I do know was the pictures of the fish were of decent size- Most of the cutts were fairly nice fish. The pictures of the river showed that it was a decent sized river and not a small creek.
