What, no one is going to mention FlySmyth?
Although I don't know any of them personally, I know some of the best fly tiers you'll find anywhere are on this site. I'm sure someone could help you out a bit. Unfortunately, I wouldn't fit the mold.

Fish Tech and Western Rivers Fly Fishers both offer fly tying classes from time to time. Western also has lessons on casting. There are fly tying clubs in most of the metro areas of Utah with monthly or occasional meetings. Several guys on the site run or participate in these. Cheech has mad skilz tying. Lots of other guys on the site do as well.
Check the archives on the site and you can find mention of most of the fly tying clubs.

for that, it's the best deal out there.
He does keep a Shihtzu in his lap to conceal the parts that shouldn't get sunburned though.

That's hot! Remember in middle and high school when girls would ask you if you wanted to roll? I didn't understand at first, it was weird, could only go so long you know.

I have a good DVD on fly tying you can have.
Take Marty up on his generous offer. I've seen it and, aside from one-on-one instruction, it is a nice way to learn. (He happens to know the producer of this DVD) ;)

Curtis is a great teacher. I'm pretty ashamed to say that Curtis even taught his Lego toys to tie better than I do.

Hehe, thanks for the props...
Actually, we're going to get together at my place tomorrow night for a couple of hours. Anyone that wants to come and get a beginner lesson or just see how messy my fly tying man-cave is, you're welcome to come along. I've got extra vises if you want to just try it out. Email me for details.

Oh man! I am working tomorrow night. I have hoped for something like this to happen in Utah County again. It seems like everything happens in up in Salt Lake or Davis County.
Just as I was getting started learning how to tie, I made it to one of the fly tying gatherings at Cabelas and they haven't had one since. I am beginning to feel like I am jinxed. Heavy sigh <grin>

Boots,
Thanks a million for showing me how to tie some flies. I am going to get some material and give it a try. I'm going to the Weber this Sunday to give that rig a tryout.
Thanks again.
