No posts in 10,000 days! I thought I might as well throw something down in the Sage reels section.

I've been using the 2560 for about a year at this point and I a few features stand out.

Weight: I love how light the 2560 is, especially given the size of the arbor and the capacity of the spool. Since it's so light, I'm able to use the same reel on 4-7 weight rods and still have them balance equally well. This might be one of the reel's best selling points given the price, the 6-weight model is light enough for smaller rods with enough capacity for heavier lines too. My 3-weight is only 7'10" and this reel becomes a bit too heavy at that juncture.

Drag: Very much enjoy the numbered drag and the consistency it offers. O-ring sealed and very simple to convert from right to left hand retrieve. Swapping spools is a snap with no levers or releases. It also has nice acoustics.

This series is made up through the 2580, but I think it's best used for trout or bonefish applications. On an 8-weight+ I think I would prefer the big game drag system of the 3400 or 3500 for repeated, sustained runs. This reel definitely has the quality and sealed drag to stand up well for saltwater.

Nice post and it's good to see a nice product review on here. I have heard nothing but good things about the series of reels. I have considered them a couple times. But my conclusion was on a Galvan Torque instead. The main reason you ask? The Sage is made in Korea! So at almost $300 I will go USA made any day of the week.
