I am going to fish Hunington on Saturday morning if anyone is interested in sharing a ride. I haven't fished it in a few years but I am sure we can find a place. I gues it is getting pretty popular.

I believe Old Man posted that he was going this weekend also. I hope to, but will not make any predictions. It is usuall quite busy on fathersday weekend, but so is everywhere else.

If you go to Huntington Sat. there is another stream in the area that should have lots of fish and not very many people fish it or even realize its there. The stream coming out of Cleavland Res. fish it down toward where it dumps into the Left Fork, a short hike which keeps most people away. They are draining Cleavland and a lot of the fish are going down stream. Post how you do, I am planning to go the first of the week.

Are they draining it completely, or just trying to keep a flow in Left Fork? Where did you hear this?

gets drained low almost every year.
It was drained almost dry last year for irrigation, so it would not surprize me to see it dry this year.

I was told that it is being drained to do work on the dam etc. The daily limit has been increased and the DWR are incouraging all fisherman not to C&R. Same thing for Millers Flat., it is about dry now, just a puddle.

Both Cleveland and Millers Flat still have a lot of water. I would say Cleveland is at 80% of capacity. We fished the left hand fork last saturday and the river was not indicative of Cleveland being drained. Left hand fork was a bit cloudy from muddy flow coming out of Staker Creek and Rolfson Creek. There was a fair showing of stoneflys down towards the campground. Stimulators were working for us.

I guess you can't believe anything some people tell you. I rode up to Cleavland area on Fri. evening, water level is a little low but not bad, Millers Flat is the same. I spoke with a FS employee who did not know about any dam work on either Res. He did say that we should expect very low water this fall, this is the reason for the double limits and the advise to not C&R. Appologies for the bad info on the earlier post.
