Well, we're ready to roll with our film festival to kick off the 2008 Wasatch Fly Tying and Fishing Expo. The film festival will include some great fly fishing films from film-makers across the country. It will be held Thursday May 1st from 7pm until 9pm at the Miller Free Enterprise Center in the Auditorium, Salt Lake Community College, 9750 South 300 West, Sandy, Utah.

Here is a short list of what we're looking at so far:

"Soulfish" by Mikey Weir
"Zoo Zealand" by Bryan Huskey
"Big Trout & Bass" by Landon Mayer and Mad Trout
"4 Seasons of Steelhead" by Beaver Hill Productions
"Equilibrium" by Castaway Films
"Quiet Waters" by Flyglass Media
"River Poets" by Fly on the wall travels
"Destinations" by Beattie Productions
"Reflection" by Reese Almond Productions

We have a few more trickling in as final selections so it should be a blast. Tickets will be $8 per person, $10 at the door. We will be giving away some great door prizes and holding a few raffles. It should be a great event.

We're also looking for a few more local entries if anyone is interested in submitting a film or a short. Just let me know.

Please spread the word and let's get a good showing to kick off the Expo. Thanks!

Sorry, due to the fact that the facilities are part of the SLCC campus, there are no alcohol sales at the theater or Expo venues.

But those William Joseph flasks are a great value & fit nicely in a back pocket!

I will be there for sure!

Cock tails make great schlappen, but I prefer the saddles and necks.

We also got confirmation that Marty Howard will be submitting a short film as well. We're very excited about the film festival and hope to make it an annual tradition with the expo. Curtis has a done a great job in organizing the film festival. If you want to pre-pay for a ticket please send in the rsvp form asap....cost is $8 prepaid and $10 at the door. Thanks.
