Hey JayMorr,
Thanks for the pic work! http://www.flyfishermanforum.com/
My flies in closeup make me realize why I usually tie with a light. I need to clean up my whip finishes on small flies.

F/V's adventures on http://www.utahcutthroat.blogspot.com/ have been fun for me to follow as well.

Since you guys do such good blogwork, I'd like to challenge you with some blog assignments.

JayMorr, I want to see 3 different photo styles of the same tying product...lets say chicken feathers for this. This isn't an editing challenge, but rather a clean technique or lens application concept. I'd love to see what you do in post production with them, but would like you to focus on the first part.

F/V, for you, I want you to work on reflections...an angler's reflection in the water, a fish mirrored on the surface, etc. 3 shots from you too please.

Wildnative, I've been watching yours too... www.troutseeker.blogspot.com
I want to see you catch a fish from as small a stream as possible...putting the sneek on, straddling the stream, etc.

Pictures may be worth a thousand words, but I want write-ups too. At least a paragraph for each pic (no naming waters!) I won't put a deadline on you unless you want it.

So who else has a blog? I'd be happy to give assignments so that you can enjoy a challenge and I can enjoy some late-night surfing.

Is mine a video assignment or will stills do?

I know just the place but you'll have to wait for the snow to melt.

Sounds good. I leave for Alaska on Sunday. If I do not get to it by then, I will do it right when I get back. Fun challenge Nick. Thanks.

I will gladly take some constructive criticism.

Now that the season has begun, the updates will be more often and more geared to days on the river, and changing fishing conditions. In the winter, I am limited to subject material.

LOL.... nice Nick! I'll give it a go, it will give me something to do.

As far as the blog work goes, I actually have no idea what I am doing. It started as a way to let the family/friends know I am still alive ; ) It has taken its own path I suppose and I am surprised that anyone even looks at it. I do wish I had more knowledge in "web-construction" and photoshop, its been, well, lets just say a bit of a learning curve. It is fun to do though and I enjoy looking back on my experiences.

Thanks for the plug, I'll try to get some semi-decent pics for the task.

I think that spot is still under about 2 or 3 feet of snow. A heat wave, a major runoff and we're there!

The Blogs have been great! I love being able to experience other peoples talents. It's great to see great clear photos of other peoples ties so I can replicate them. It's not just the pictures, it's the tying descriptions, ad lib, the humor, it's everything along with just the right amount of sarcasm (mainly Cheech's). The blogs help a lot with spring fever, they are a source of tying inspiration, and contribute to dreams of places I would love to go to.

Thanks for the work

I can't believe I forgot Cheech's blog! Cheech, you are to tie 3 different bugs using the glitter thread you contrabanded, and you can't use the pattern you already took pics of. I'll have a further assignment for you later.

Wildnative, if you can do video, all the better, but pics are fine.

FishOn, I want a photo essay of candid shots of the people you fish with...at least 3 people. Get them casting, catching, tying on a bug, etc, but without their knowledge that you're doing so.

Spartagain, from you I'd like a photoessay & text of guide etiquette while floating the Green...spacing, taking river left or right, courtesy to wading anglers, etc. In part, this will be to educate private floaters on their own etiquette.

It's best just to steal it.
