but where is all the snow? Tried on a bunch of boots last weekend but it was F*&%ing cold and lots of snow. Got the 2-hander broke in Woo-Hoo

It was still pretty damn cold, iced guides til about 11 ... and they were a bit sparse. There was still snow higher up.

Thanks man! I do see what people mean by the fish seeming tired, but never-the-less it was a good experience and really makes me look forward to Alaska next year! 10mm lens, sure is fun to shoot with!

awesome pictures! I particularly like the one of the older gal w/ the big gnarly fly hanging out of the boot's mouth.

Thanks for sharing.

Why are they called "boots"?

Why are they called "boots"?

because they're a little bigger & more rugged than "socks".

sweet. if you wait another couple weeks, you won't even need a rod to get hero shots. you'll actually be able to yank 'em out with your bare hands, wipe the fungus off and click away. i wonder what the record is for latest live steelhead flossed on the Clearwater. Is june possible? that would impressive.

I especially like the shot from below of the kid in the red hat holding the fish. (Kinda looks like JonesCort.) Very cool stuff!

that's what we used to do when we were kids. what along the really small streams and pick them up by the tail. they wouldn't even attempt to get away. stupid kids disrupting the spawned out fish.

remove the man made structure & I think it would have standing. A fish under a bridge, is far below a fish snapped high upon a sturt branch. Good fish. Photo could be better? Yes, I think so.
