I like his version of Darren's Cicada, I have seen darren tie it, That guy makes it a lot more complex than it really is.

I love stillwater fly fishing for bass. I don't tie much beyond wooly bugger, though. Within that basic pattern, I go beadhead/no beadhead (mult. colors on beads), and vary the body color (white, black, brown, olive, purple, maroon, chartreuse, root beer sparkle), and size (#2 - #12). The warm water is coming up north soon! I took my first smallie last year the second week in April; it'll probably be later this year (still feels like February to me).
