I like it but the hat sucks, and the dude needs to work out a bit. The fish is great!
Yep the dude in the pic is a pussy fo sho! But it's cool because he caught it on a 3 wt. G2...

Yep. You got any good carp pix? I would have had a beaut, but he broke me after a good 10 minute fight. He was an Oregon carp, and ornery. Someone must have told him he was a steelhead. The others are only in about the 5 pound range. Not really worth shooting a picture of.

If you would have read and completed the questionaire before registering on the site you would have read that in clear plain english "you must like carp." So there you have it.

If I were holding a fish that UGLY I would toss cookies! Would be fun to catch but I would have to cut off the tippet.
But if you fish for and hook into a good size carp, those suckers will fight and give you a helluva good time. Just tell your buddies you fished the provo so nobody will have to know you fish for crap-----I mean carp ;)
Speaking of fishing the Provo.....that is where I caught my only carp on a fly. He/she was a freaking hog, but didn't fight that well. Was more like reeling in a ginormous log. I would like to fish for them a little more though and get into the fight action.
For the record, I didn't touch that darn thing either! Coming out of Utah Lake and also in the slow stretches of the lower Provo down there....just thinking about it makes me throw up in my mouth.
(I won't tell you about the carp a buddy and I caught at Eastbay Golf Course in the ponds around the clubhouse on a "bread fly"....those suckers didn't like to be caught, both the carp I caught broke me off. You've never seen as many confused golfers as when they saw some kids flyfishing in the ponds on the golf course!)

PS. Good to see other Carp haters. I feel bad for those things I guess. I just would never fish for them and if I had one on I wouldnt hurt them.

Maybe I am just a dirty MFer, But the hardest fighting freshwater fish I ever hooked into was a 15lb carp out of Flaming Gorge. You can't convince me that that isn't fun.
So I guess the question here is ..... Who has any good pics of catfish?

Sorry, no carp pics. I usually don't like to document my carp-seeking adventures. Most FFers look down on that sort of thing (RDL) :)

I have hooked up with a few carp down there while nymphing for browns. Luckily they were all LDRs so I got all the bendo without having to handle them.

Not that size matters...the pic is awesome...but that's the smallest carp I've ever seen. I thought they were born 5 lbs and grew from there. ;)

Mvtoro caught a nice carp today, ok four nice carp.... one probably went ten pounds. Which confirms the fact that the Lamson Lp was and is a sweet reel and Sage rods are just o.k.

What do you mean that hat is beautiful!!!! IT is a glowing endorsement for the best rods made. Ahhh thinking about ruining the family finances for a z-axis as we speak.
