Wednesday, February 21, is our next Cache Anglers meeting. The meeting begins at 7:00 pm and will be held in the NEW Cache County building at 179 North Main Street. You may park on Main Street or in the parking lot on the west side of the building. The meeting room is on the first floor near the west entrance.
Eric Wagner, a multi-talented soul, will not be playing his guitar for us. However, he will be presenting some very interesting and relevant research on whirling disease: "Performance of a Whirling-Disease Resistant Trout Strain in Hyrum and Porcupine Reservoirs" Eric will cover the hatchery performance (growth, survival, feed conversion) as well as growth and survival in both reservoirs. He will also cover the whirling-disease prevalence and spore loading differences between the resistant strain and the Ten-Sleep strain of rainbow trout. Finally, Eric will present the creel survey data for both reservoirs that was collected between Dec 2006 and August 2007.
If you are not fishing, you don't have an excuse for not being there! PLUS, we'll review upcoming events including fishing trips to Black Canyon in Idaho and the April salmon fly transplant project.
