So I was thinking who has the best falling in story? I seems like I go about a year or two then I have a nasty one.

This years was in Montana on the Madison late October. About 25 degrees without the wind chill. Dunked myself about a mile into the eight mile float. I'm not going to lie I just got to greedy trying to reach a nice pocket in the middle of the river and went down. Got back to the bank stripped down and rang everything out. Just my luck about the same time the sun came out for about the only 20 minutes that day. Geared back up and floated down and met up with Ralphy and F/V. Fished for as long as I could take it caught some nice cuts on the Nasty-Nick (thanks for naming yet another one F/V). Then F/V told me to get my ass to the car before I got hypothermia! Good thing I listened because the sun started to go down and I couldn't feel or move my feet or hand at all. I have never been to cold in my life... Good time though wouldn't take that day back for anything! But I would have packed my extra gloves and socks in my dry bag. I'll post some pics of the day when I get home.

Does sinking a boat count and having to swim back to shore? I'm accident prone, so I fall in way too often. I've falling out of a drift boat on the Green, and taken an unwanted downstream swim in more than one river. I wounder if alcohol ever has anything to do with these spills and falls?

I've had my usuals falling in the green. But i have a good one about my buddy. We were down on Pine? lake in St. George area and it had ice on half of it. he was trying to tell me that you only need two inches to drive a car out on it. So I dared him to walk out on the ice about 30 ft. or so and see ya right through the ice. Funniest damn thing I have ever seen. He got out just fine but was soaked all down his waders everything. What an idiot.

Fished all day on Henrys Fork, in water mostly knee deep. I started for the truck in water calf deep and a hundred yards wide. Easy wading. About 15 feet from shore, the water deepened to waist deep. Complacent about the easy wading, and in a bit of a hurry, I stepped wrong on a rock and took a nosedive. Ruined a good digital camera, broke half my thumbnail off on a submerged rock, and had to dry out about a thousand flies and other accessories. I was almost within arms reach of the willows on shore. There's not enough server space to tell you the rest of my baptism stories. Bad knees and klutz are not a good combination.

I went fishing in teh Uintas late this summer. I backpacked in 8 miles or so, set up camp . Started fishing up the stream next to my camp. Went to jump across teh stream, my foot shot out from underneath me when it hit the wet rock, fell really hard on the rock sticking out of the stream right on the right side of my back, I laid on teh edge of the bank for about 20-30 minutes hoping I wasnt bleeding internally. Ended up breaking six ribs (didnt know that then) I could not sleep that night so I got up the next morning and carried my 50lb back pack out the 8 miles having muscle cramps around the ribs that took my breath the whole way out. It only took a couple months to get over that one, had to sleep in my lazy boy the whole time.

Not to mention being alone.
I have taken to many spills this summer. I almost lost my toon to the lake while taking one of them, Fell in freezing cold water before a 5 hour drive back home, got my boots stuck in the mud when I had boot footed waders and pulled right out of them. And a few others.

Not the best falling in story, but it was just a week ago and I still have the scabs on my elbow. I was fishing the south fork of the Ogden behind memorial park. I slipped on the the muddy bank, slid down the bank on my elbow and ass, and into the water. While laying on my back the water filled up my waders. I had to strip off my waders, put my soaking wet fleece wader liners in my garbage bag, get back into my waders then head down stream to find a new hole. The mud there is super slick, I fell a dozen more times walking down the bank.

My former boss wanted to learn to fly fish and asked me to get him going. After he dropped almost $2000 dollars at the fly shop to get all rigged up we hit the river. After coaching him for about an hour I moved downstream to get some fishing in. I was about 50 yards away when I heard a yelp. I looked upstream and only saw his fist poking out of the water grasping his new $1000 rod and reel. I have always had the urge to drown my boss, but when it really happens it isn't all its cracked up to be.

That's funny....I had the same thing happen, but the boss wanted to learn to ski. We went to the ski shop and he spent a couple grand on skis, boots, clothing, etc. We all went up to Mammoth and he spent the day on his ass. That night at the condo, he hosted an auction....some of us got some great deals on once-used ski equipment.

Being the gentelman-Husband that I an I was helping my wife cross the river. With her leaning on me for suport I caught my foot on an unseen rock and went down. Her being the concerned, loving wife she tried to kleep me from washing down stream while holding me down, taking on water and gasping. Finally I was able to get the words out "LET GO" and I bobbed up . Oh well whats another $400 for a new camera-wet flyboxes-schriveld nards etc. when you can spend a day fishing with the one you love!!!!

I'm laughing so hard!

1. Schriveld nards! That is just funny...it just is.

New camera = $350
Dozen flies to replace rusted ones = $32.50
Schriveld nards ....Priceless!, no wait... according to my accounting they are worth $17.50!
