Got the itch... again, its been a day or two. Headed up to the high country with MFRW. The air was crisp and the water was cold. Ran into an old timer, he had something to say, we listened. We parted ways with the fisherman nod and a good luck gesture. It has actually been a while since I had met any friendly folks on the water, kinda nice. Even in Montana, Idaho and Wyoming the stuck-up guys I run into always seem to have a Utah license plate.
On the way back we traveled by trail. It's sickening seeing all the trash that people leave in the wilderness. Really, these people don't belong here. As usual we packed it all out.
Thought that you all would enjoy some pics of these fish... and the trash

those are freaking AWSOME PIC'S except for the trash...........i agree with you though about stuck up, snobby fishermen. i moved here from montana and agree that in montana, you could pull up to the gas pump to fill up your truck and know the persons whole life story of the guy filling up next to you by the time your done. people there dont have the "big city" attitudes that some/most people here have. your lucky to get a freaking "hello, good bye or a kiss my ass" out of some people. i, however have found some hope from a lot of good people on these boards though but keep making a concious effort to remain freindly. the next time your on the river, out on the lake or at the pump and a guy say's goodmorning, hows the fishing or what are they biting on, dont be a stuck up snob and be courteous and freindly. it just might be me.

Sweet dude. Great pix. That tree was wearing the waders to try to scare fishermen away.

Maybe it was a fisherman who got lucky with a mermaid and was so blown away by the experience he forgot to put his waders back on. Think positive.
I have not had a bad experience with stuck up people here or anywhere. I start out the conversation, take time to listen to folk, show an interest in what they have to say, and have some great stream side conversations.
I have, however, chosen not to talk to some jerk who was littering and killing fish. Just walk on buy muttering to myself about the lack of education and respect for the fish and the environment. Person is someone who I would not want to know, and probably would not listen if I took the time to try and educate him.

Nice pixs there Gulfswing.
Those waders are hodges fo sho! I had a couple of pairs of those. Wanted to leave them in the trees a couple time. Then I found the love of my life.... Simms gore-tex. Hmmm... They make me feel warn and fuzzy inside.
F/V Looks like you have another amazing day on the MP ehhh?

Nice report F/V Gulf Ventur! I really dig your pictures... of the fish! Don't tell me you took those with a "point and shoot" camera. They look too nice for that but if you did please let me know what kind it is.
Seeing trash like that can sure make you wonder about the future of our fisheries. Such a sad thing!

Thanks - Yep, point and shoot. I shoot fishing with a little waterproof Pentax. I always consider shooting the SLR but seldom actually bring it along.
Nothing makes me more upset out in the wilderness than some ignorant a$$holes trash. I have lugged out many-o-cans from the brushy banks of my happiness.

I carry a garbage bag with me when I go out just for the litter. In the last year I don't think I made one trip where I didn't bag any litter.
