Saturday, I went fishing, I was with a buddy from work and we were on Diamond Fork Creek.
It was my second time out, and after being there for a few minutes I caught my first fish!
When I say my first fish, I mean my first fish EVER in my entire 30 something years.
It was small, 4"-5" brown trout, so I figure I can only go up from there!
I have a pic of me and my tropy trout, so I'll find a way to post it.

Speaking of such things, is html linking something that this forum is capable of, I haven't seen it done here.

Good for you!!! Well now you can consider yourself an authority and start mouthing off like everyone else. When are you going to start guiding on the Provo or selling casting lessons on KSL.com. (I'm just kidding)

Was it on a fly? Either way, you're walking down a one way street you know...... No turning back.

Was it on a fly?

Of course it was!
Sadly, I am unable to say what it was.

Congrats on the first fish. It all starts here. Good luck going through your days without daydreaming of being on the water. That's what I do for hours a day.

Mine was up Big Cottonwood creek just below Doughnut Falls. It was the smallest fish ever caught in the history of fly fishing, on a tiny caddis pattern. Thinking about it now, I was almost as excited about that little guy as I have been with the largest fish I have caught.

Dude! I looked for trout all over the place around there this summer, and never did I even see a fish!
It must have been eluding the Great White Trout Stalker.
Nice work, Raff!

Right on Raff! That's actually just a little upstream of where I caught my first fish in Utah when I was a young lad. Big Cotton wood. I had used salmon eggs earlier in the day and busted out the fly rod because I knew, even at such a tender young age, that it would be the way to go.

Welcome to the obsession. Buckle up...it'll be a long long ride. Better start saving your money and vacation days or you'll be kicking yourself later. :-)
