Join the Stonefly Society this Thursday evening Nov 15th at 7pm for an evening with Jim Demoux for a special presentation: The presentation will be held at our normal meeting location. http://www.stoneflysociety.org/meetingmap.htm We hope to see you there.

“The Fish at Our Feet—Where to Find Good Fishing Within a Ten-Mile Radius of Downtown Salt Lake City.” Fishermen have a tendency to believe that good fishing involves driving long distances to remote locations. And while it’s true that much of Utah’s best fishing is found in more remote locations, some very good opportunities exist right at our doorstep—the streams and stillwaters that surround Salt Lake City.. Jim will share the places, the tackle, and the tactics to take wild trout within sight of the capital building.

Jim's bio:
Jim DeMoux is the author of the Flyfisher’s Guide to Utah, published by Wilderness Adventure Press. With nearly 600 hundred pages of information and photos, the Flyfisher’s Guide is the most comprehensive source of information available on Utah fishing. Jim has fished Utah’s waters for more than 30 years. He has written fly fishing articles for American Angler, Field & Stream, Outdoor Life, Southwest Fly Fishing, and Trout magazines.

Jim is a senior consultant for Shipley Associates, a business development consulting and training company. Jim is a former professor of organizational communication and holds a PhD degree from the University of Colorado. He and his wife Louise recently moved from Bountiful to Ogden where they have a home on the Ogden River.

Best urban dive?
3300 South and Main St.

What to take:
Royal Wulff 16
Fat Albert 12
Para Adams 14
5 bottles of Purell/dishwasher gloves
.44 magnum

leave your damn wallet in the car, (but stow your f. license just below your holster) which should be parked above 700 East anyway for crime prevention

What to expect:
-Transients asking you to keep the fish for them to eat
-A LOT of passersby shaking their heads and telling you "there ain't shit in that creek", when really, you know for a fact there IS shit in that creek.
-Brown trout, carp, bass and goldfish

Good fishin!
And please, for the love of your digestive system, don't eat the fish you catch in the Valley!
