I was in Manchester VT last week and tried out a 5 wt mid flex. It was extremely light and nice and accurate in short casts. Throwing it long took a bit more effort than I am use to with my XP. The tip flex though may of made the differance. It was a nice rod nothing special and i probably would not buy it if I was in the market for a new 5 wt. But if you are looking for a deal and like Orvis rods they were blowing out their Zero Gravity rods at $350 for a 2 piece. They also said that they were going to discontinue 2 piece rods.
I also picked up the 8 weight and it was only 2.5 oz
Yrah Drake-ster what was your experience

I also threw the 5 wt mid flex. I enjoyed it. It was light and fast and worked well for dries or deep water setups. I used a Scott demo the day before and was having a hard time getting fish to the net. I didn't have that problem with the Helios. I may have been more comfortable with the Helios because my regular rod is on Orvis...
