Just curious if any one has ever used this tool?

It looks like a good tool to have but I wonder if it can damage your line when removing the split shot.

I think if you need a tool to remove your splitshot, the line is already damaged.

Your tippet is damaged as soon you crimp that split shot onto your tippet......so tool or no tool it's not going to matter. Once you take that split shot off you'll have a weak point in your tippet. I usually just cut the whole piece off and replace it with a fresh one. That tool does look handy though.....especially when you're using split shot on the bottom of your line with the Provo RIver bounce rig.

What bout them sub emergers? ive used #8 shot below the dry to get them dropper sub emergers down to the right depth. I must lose 3 or 4 everytime i try to put one on. The tool could be useful if ya aint got no teef i bet. Personally it just takes way to much time for me to fiddle with. Time spent fiddlin is time that your line isnt in the water.

I am always changing my system while nymphing. I either use my thumb nail or forceps to get the splits on and off. Looks like that tool would be just the ticket.
