Just wondering if anyone has ever fished here. When I drove past it during this last week I was reminded about an article that I had read a couple of years back that talked about the fish in the place. Is it worth a trip up to for a day a fishing?

It is worth the drive, It can be great floating or sight fishing from the shore line. I have always had success (never skunked) on Daniels. I prefer it later in the year as the water level continues to drop.

I am going up this Sat. even though it is free fishing, I figure I would rather fight crowds in Idaho instead of Utah this week.

Kent,
Yes is the answer! I think most of the stillwater fly fishers on this forum will agree with me. It can be as good or better at times than that other lake up in the area that draws anglers from all over the world.

Give it a shot,
Mel Moore

T4X- we might be up there Saturday also. Staying at my bros in Pokey Friday nite and Saturday, either Daniels or Springfield on Saturday. Then up to Henrys Sunday. Maybe we'll see you there.

Hi Guys, I fished Daniels yesterday for the first time in a month. I did pretty good in the north end using damsel nymphs and an olive calibatis nymph (Denny Rickard's pattern). Glad to get some fish out of here. Last two trips I'd been "Oferd". The water level is excellent, compared to last summer. There is nine feet of water at the trees in the north end. Last year at this time, they were a quarter of a mile dry. As always, the wind came out of the south about ten AM and blew until I left at two.
