I received a call from my landscaper this morning that there was a dead deer in my backyard.
Over the past year I have tried to capture the family of deer on film. My shots in the dark have come up grainy. It has been fun to follow the family and this year it was neat to see the two Fawnlings arrive. The deer would bed down in my back yard each night or sometimes hang out in my neighbors yard. Last week while I was up at Elephant Rock in bountiful I saw the family of deer making their way down the hill. I got a kick out of watching the yearlings.
I made way up to the house to handle the issue. The division of wildlife can not make it to my home till Sat or possibly Sunday. I arrived to see that one of the yearlings had died. It is not apparent what happened but it did not look like it had been hit by a car.
It doesnt appear that it will make any good tying material. I thought tying up some flies from its tail might be nice but when I arrived on scene I thought otherwise.
Please DWR show up soon! I have the little guy wrapped in a tarp and in the shade.
