water temp was 62.5 degrees.

Air temp had dropped to 45 degrees by 8:30

Fish are just starting to move in shallow, but they were crusing next to the wed beds.

Nice pics Lonnie. I like the sunset shot. Fish onnn!

A couple quick (unsolicited, sorry) suggestions. Remember that rule of thirds, and most important, flop your photo and crop close to confuse potential hotspotters:

I'm gonna agree that there are some waters that we need to keep on the down low, but I'm not sure that I'm gonna be fooling anyone when it's the most fished water in the state....

Just sayin'....

They messed up the DWR site and now they are here to mess with this one. Funny how they move from that site to this one and want to change everything. Of course, they move out of California to Utah and then want to change everything here to what they moved away from there. How dumb is that? :)

If they did, they should have prayed a little harder or longer or both. My only real question is whether USU will be able to cover the 46 point spread with Oklahoma, I am betting not.

And that's why all the mid-80's to current PUD housing tracts and strip mall architecture looks like Cali, and why houses are being built further and further up the hillsides, and why gated communities are increasing and...and...

...as a lifelong Utahn and semi-regular visitor to Cali, I can see all kinds of Californication here.

See Seattle, Bend, Portland, Boise, Las Vegas, Denver, etc, etc...It's called "Americation"........capitalism, consumerism, or whatever you'd like. I'd bet 99% of the builders you reference have to no roots or ties to CA at all. It's all about $ signs. To attribute Urban Sprawl to CA is a prespective typical of someone who hasn't spent much time outside of UT (or CA).

As a CA native I'll be the first to admit that CA is the a-hole of the west, no argument there. But to suggest that Californians that have relocated here (by choice) "wish that Utah would become what CA is" is utterly insane.

If you suggest that, you have NO CONCEPT of what living in CA is like and I'd suggest you go live there for 5 years or so. You'll get eaten alive (and move back penniless).

I went to California when I was 10 (which was 39 years ago) I hated it and vowed that I would never go there again. I haven't. Been to Wyoming frequently, however.

Well that's a fine welcome we love to have you, let us be here to make you a better fisherman, what can I learn from you post. I have been a member of both forums and the DWR site although a lot of baiters people seemed more open to "share". Sometimes this site can seem a bit elitiest and unwelcoming. That is not to be said for all, but there are some members that sure give off that vibe. As far as CA I was just there for 1 week and that place is a dump! I sure makes you appreciate what we enjoy here in the rocky mountians.

And I speak for all Californians....All the Rockies need is Disneyland location, and a freeway with 6 lanes in each direction leading to it.
And while I am wishing they were more like CA, I'd like a Trader Joe's at each Maverick station....and cheaper liposuction so I can eat more fry sauce, but I digress.....

Two Buck Chuck in SLC?! SSSSSwwwweeetttttt.......

So how do they negotiate the liquor laws? $3 bottles of a smokin' no name vino are what Joe's is all about. By the time the "State" added their piece of the action all we'd have is a state liquor store with food. Sounds like a challenge to me.

The california that everyone speaks of that is so bad is just pretty much the coastal area. I think that a lot of people wouldn't mind being in the more inland areas. There is even some pretty decent fishing. Now everyone go there and let me be. Utah rules (hottest women, great fishing, and hottest women), everywhere else is just ok and the east coast blows!!!!!

No Lonnie but I have heard of California Hunnies Wearin Sassoon.

-California...knows how to party
California...knows how to party
In the citaaay of L.A.
In the citaaay of good ol' Watts
In the citaaay, the city of Compton
We keep it rockin! We keep it rockin!

Now let me welcome everybody to the wild, wild west
A state that's untouchable like Elliot Ness
The track hits ya eardrum like a slug to ya chest
Pack a vest for your Jimmy in the city of sex
We in that sunshine state with a bomb ass hemp beat
the state where ya never find a dance floor empty
And pimps be on a mission for them greens
lean mean money-makin-machines servin fiends
I been in the game for ten years makin rap tunes
ever since honeys was wearin sassoon
Now it's '95 and they clock me and watch me
Diamonds shinin lookin like I robbed Liberace
It's all good, from Diego to tha Bay
Your city is tha bomb if your city makin pay
Throw up a finger if ya feel the same way
Dre puttin it down for
Californ-i-a

Out on bail fresh outta jail, California dreamin
Soon as I stepped on the scene, I'm hearin hoochies screamin
Fiendin for money and alcohol
the life of a west side playa where cowards die
Only in Cali where we riot not rally to live and die
In L.A. we wearin Chucks not Ballies (that's right)
Dressed in Locs and khaki suits and ride is what we do
Flossin but have caution we collide with other crews
Famous cause we program worldwide
Let'em recognize from Long Beach to Rose Grands
Bumpin and grindin like a slow jam, it's west side
So you know the row won't bow down to no man
Say what you say
But give me that bomb beat from Dre
Let me serenade the streets of L.A.
From Oakland to Sacktown
The Bay Area and back down
Cali is where they put they mack down
Give me love!

I lived in California at an age when I was really horny and couldn't touch (mission).

I lived in the following communities:

Bakersfield
Ojai
Oxnard/Port Hueneme/ Channel Islands harbor
Pismo Beach Arroyo Grande
Van Nuys/sepulveda/ Pacoima/Panorama City

Like Styan says I totally back up. You occasionally see a woman that is just unbelievably. For the most part Utah women are far better looking.

BTW, Ojai used to hold the pac 10 and big west tennis tournament. the girls from Arizon were totally hot. USC girls were dogs.

Ever fish around Lion's Camp?...Heard of Sespe Creek?
There's some great water back there.
Lived in Santa Barbara from '75-'80. Used to venture down that way often. Great Pacific Iron Works (Patagucci) in Ventura had a nice selection of tying materials.

Theorem

Went to a Univ. of Tennessee game at Neyland Stadium in the late 80's saw more nice SEC Southern Belles to shake a stick at.

Was in the French Quarter on a Saturday night in 1993 after an LSU- Alabama game. Southern Belles 2X.

Corollary

Was on the sidelines of a CSU-BYU game in 1988 or 89 I forget, but the CSU sideline was pelted by half eaten chicken bones (probably from the Harmons 100 piece fried chicken pack) thrown at us by 3 fat old ladies.

Summary
The SEC had nicer drumsticks.
