No pics but...... found two different but similar mayflies on my front door yesterday. I am thinking that one was some form of beatis and the other some type of march brown but if any one has better ideas....
Descriptions:
1st: about size 16 light gray coloring with "camoflauge". Camoflauge pattern extends all across the wings. Two tails.
2nd: againg about size 16 and light gray coloring with a little more towards olive around where the legs connect to the body. Clear wings large red/brown eyes. Two tails.

Anyone?

Sounds like a callibaetis and a BWO

raps, how do you fish your beatis dries with your balloon indicator-- do you match the color of your balloon to your dry fly? And how can you be the EXPERT you dont live in Provo. UCLA by a touchdown on Saturday-- go Olsen!

I almost stepped on one down in my TYING room of all things. Upon careful observation, it's tails were many. There were some that were alomst a white/black variation, creating kind of a grey appearance. The other tails were mixed in with the others and they were pure brown. The body had very little segmentation or curve to it, and had somewhat of a fuzzy grey appearance. The wings seemed to be all clumped into one pronounced white wing, and the legs were the same appearance of the tails, but individually sticking out at a 90 degree angle from the wing forming a circle. This mayfly must be an easy treat for a fish because I saw no eyes at all.

I just use a small balloon aproximating the color of the dry and tie a hook into it.... who needs dry flies when you have ballooons? As to being an expert I am a self proclaimed expert. Certified and bonified in my own eyes. Cheif proponent of the latexy goodness of a bobber colloquially known as a strike indicator to us fly fishing snobs.

Cheech that sounds like an interesting critter, but I sometimes prefer the sub species where the wings/legs are spiked out in all directions in a hodge podge mish mash some times refered to as genus hackle stacker.

Cheech, hell USU is already looking for a new coach- no news there. We already knew the expectations for the year- 0-12. It will be a good season to hunt grouse and forget about football.

BYU, they will have a good season until they play someone good-- like UCLA-- I suspect that their season will be over after Saturday.
