Here's my report:
I've been fly-fishing for a little while now, little less than a yeark but probably less than 10 times out. I got really frustrated because as of last week I had not yet caught one single fish. So I decided to quit my local trips to close-by sections of the Ogden and Weeb and take a day to drive up to the Logan in the morning and fish there, surely I would have to catch something. Sure enough, I caught my first fish, a tiny little cut. Fortunately, I proceeded to catch 9 more throughout the afternoon. Almost all were tiny little dinks, no more than 5" but I landed one 10 incher and hooked two more about that size or larger but lost them before I could land them. Needless to say it was a great trip for me. I didnt' care that the fish were tiny, the action was super fast and if all my bites were large enough to actually fit my fly in their mouth I could have had 30 or more. I started with a tan grand hopper then realized it was too big for most of the fish so switched to a slightly smaller Royal Wulff. Without a doubt it recharged my fly fishing batteries and broke my slump and frusration. Much to my wife's dismay I can't stop thinking about my next fishing trip, but I have a worry that unless I make a long drive again back to the Logan or the MP I will be back to no fish. Maybe my success will have taught me enough to read the river better, we'll see. Well that's all, I just needed to share my success and give kudos to this site as it has helped me out a lot as well as the great advice I picked up at Angler's Den on the way up to the river.
