Just some info for those thinking about heading to Jackson Hole via Montpelier, Idaho.
U.S. 89 from Montpelier to Geneva is CLOSED for construction till the fall of 2003. There is a detour from Montpelier south to Border on Highway 30 where you pick up Wyo 89 and go back north. Better to come from Kemerrer north or if going by way of Logan go north through Soda Springs and over Tin Cup and down into Star Valley. Just leave the Blackfoot River alone! ;^)
This is not to say you can't get up to Montpelier Reservoir. The actual construction is farther up than that.
