I finally had a chance to hook up with Jason and pick up my new 6'6 3wt Echo Rod. It is pretty! Dark green nice reel seat and it comes in a 3 piece, making it nice for any trips.

With the driveway being ripped out and the busy schedule today I did not get a chance to fish, I decided to give it a huck in my front mud pool of a yard! I love this rod! It is smooth and really fun to cast. It really hucks a lot of line. This rod feels much different from many of the other rods I have casted in the same price range. It has the feel of a rod that would cost a couple hundred more than what I paid.

Sweet stick! I am very impressed with the feel and design and I can't wait to get it out on the water and do some other casts with it. This one is gonna be a favorite for some time.

Oh, and it's a 4pc, not a 3pc. :)

How far did u get that rod to cast? Does the short length feel like it made that big of a difference? I use a 8" 4wt on the m.p. and it'll cast as far as I want it to, but I'd like to go to maybe a shorter and lighter wt rod.

Yeah I meant 4pc :)

James to answer your question on distance, I did not measure but it double hauls nice...40-50ft? I love it in the 6'6 length. This is a perfect rod for me on smaller water where the bushes are over grown and I need the length to be a bit smaller yet still be able to land some decent size fish.

I have to say that Nightfish let me use an echo rod (not sure of the model) a little while ago and I was pretty impressed with it. I think for the price they might be the best rods out there!

I sure have been happy with the Echo rod that I won at the BOC raffle this year, it is a very good rod in my opinion.

you suck- you should give that rod to your buddy that needs it worse than you.

If you gave me that rod and mike, he sucks too, gave me that reel that he won, I could be pretty happy with life.

Though that bamboo rod makes me feel alittle better.

Do you expect to get a 70 ft cast out of a 3wt?.........and one under 7 ft?
