While fishing Scofield Saturday morning with a couple friends, one of them (Patty) dropped their fly rod and reel in the water while releasing a fish. We were in 11 feet of water on the south end of the lake and we know the area we were fishing, but we could not see it or bring it up.
Does anyone have any reasonable suggestions on how we might be able to recover this fly rod rather easily for her. The area has a lot of weeds and visibility on Saturday was rather poor from the wind the previous day.
Luckily I had a second rod on my pontoon so she was still able to fish. As most of us know, loosing anything of value can be very frustrating and sad.
As some of you may remember, I dropped a Sage fly rod and reel in the same water and in the same are a couple years ago and I never found it. I'm hoping her story ends differently.
