So, I've been thinking lately, there sure are a lot of people that talk and post all sorts of stuff on fly fishing internet forums. Judging by some of the topics and number of posts, I'm wondering how much time they really spend fishing vs being goobers talking smack on UOTF eating Cheetos and downloading porn all day.

So, step up to the plate and be honest here. How many days a year do you fish?

I used to legitimatly fish 100+ days a year. But you get out here in the prairie and a real job takes the days out. (I don't have water as close as you Utah folks do, unless it all boils away in the heat)

Before or after I was married......before 100+......after 40+ and only because I got my wife into it. Only now I have to take her with me every time and we usually have to find a babysitter or put my daughter in the Kelty Kid pack (which makes ones shoulders sore after three hours of casting). Maybe I should change my user name?

I just head out after work about 3 times a week. When all you have going on is the career, and the wife travels a lot for work, it leaves a lot of time to fish. Right now I'm averaging about 4 days a week. I'm pretty new to the sport, so I figure the more I get out there, the better.

Fish way more since quitting guiding 5 years ago. Guiding isn't fishing, it's work.

Not a guide just have a nice shift. 3-4 days off a week and fishing is 10-15 miles away. One long day or possibly an over night trip a week is usually allowed and next month 10 days in the gulf.

I'm not a guide, but I get out at least 10 times a month. I'm young and I just don't have a ton going on right now. That leaves a lot of time to get out on the river.

I can say im out over a hundred days easy. But then i guide. I do get to fish some on almost all guide trips as well as teach others. Now if you ask me how many times i get out on my own and fish just for myself i would say that it would be around 60+ a year.

I'm a bit over a hundred but some of those are ice fishing days. Probably 85 days average fly fishing the last few years.
