I thought the middle would be packed Saturday, but it wasn't that bad. I think I saw more anglers on the Weber around Hoytsville.

Do most of you get there in the evening?

I have been going mostly in the evenings, even so I have not noticed any crowds if you stay late...certain sections will be deserted completely

You must have stayed below river road. Up near the dam was about as crowded as I have ever seen it this weekend.

I fished the mailboxes area last night. This is the first I've fished the provo in about 3 weeks and I expected crowds. Saw 3 other fisherman the whole night.

Nice night....lots of bugs and fish up.

Everyone is still chasing the drakes up below the dam. I fished the bait section all week and had it to myself. Just a note, the fishing is pretty much over by 5:00 pm, no need to come up and fish it late. Swinging soft hackles is not working at all, nymphing during the day is were its at. Too much info, I will shut up.

Last time I was down toward Charleston and only saw one angler walking back to his car while I was calling it a day too. It was actually a little erie out there all alone since it was so dang quiet bushwackin through the marshy areas. I was walking up a side channel and a big doe leaped into the river right in front of me and gave me a real good startle...the kind where you just start laughing afterwards. The other few nights I have been up recently have been near River Road but still were not too bad. I guess I hit the less crowded afternoon/evenings. One thing ive noticed is the water seems quite a bit warmer down by Charleston...which is kinda obvious it would be but I actually could feel a difference which I did not expect.

As long as were talking about the Provo. Has anyone hit the lower over the last few days? Last time I checked it was still murky which I don't really understand. I thought it would clear up after a few days of running high but it seems its been murky for weeks now. Any reason its running so murky? I bet some of those fish are nice and fat from all the goods being kicked up by the higher water.

I'm sure all the construction has somethinf to do with it. It was running off color last fall for a few weeks when it should have been clear too. Something they are doing up by the dam is causing it.

thanks, I thought of that at first but then thought it would have to be a ton of sediment to make the whole river off color so I kinda ruled it out...guess they are doing something thats kickin up the dirt big time.

I hit the middle provo on Monday afternoon and it wasn't too bad. The fish were still biting and the heat really didn't get to me too much either.
