I've read many reports on UTOF about the cicada fishing on the Green - sounds like great fun. In AZ, we've currently got them going on Lee's Ferry. While not as publicized, we also get cicadas running across the surface of some of our stillwaters. On a couple of our Mogollon Rim lakes, you can really stick some pigs when the cicadas are running around. Some very large (normally nocturnal) browns come to the surface on bright sunny days to gorge on cicadas.
Do you get cicadas on some of the stillwaters in UT? If yes, are there any common characteristics? Most of the AZ stillwaters that get cicada action are surrounded by thick stands of ponderosa pines. Wondering if you every get an unexpected shot at cicada chasing trout when your fishing stillwaters?
