So who's plans were ruined because of that huge fire in the Duchesne area?
Also, I was wondering if any fisheries are going to be affected by this? I have never fished there before I have read tons about the area so I would assume that there have to be some adverse effects from the fires. Anybody know any facts on these things? Happy 4th of July. It seems so lame to go and light a little stupid thing that spits out fire and everyone says ooohhh and then the whole mtn. is on fire. I think there needs to be a committee that needs to talk about this. :)

If there are any streams in the area of the fire (which I'm sure there are) then you can be that there will be some adverse affects on the fish. Fires will burn the riparian. Without the riparian you lose a couple things: shade, and erosion control. Streams will experience increased silt and ash content along with higher temps. There will be some major fish kills...

Happen'd on the Gallatin a few years back when they had fires up near Big Sky. Water was running terrible and the fishing was not any better.

My plans were not affected yesterday but I could see the huge cloud of smoke from my location.
About the fireworks, I love them and no one is taking them away from me!!! Got my mortars ready to go...
We're scheduled to go to scout camp at the High Uinta Camp. I talked to the camp director yesterday and he said that they were on standby in regards to evacuating scouts. A lot of time and effort/resources involved in that. It would sure suck to have it cancelled!

Ok, which one of you started the fire at the base of lone peak?

I hope everyone is careful with the fireworks this week. As much as I love the fireworks on the 4th, I wouldn't be opposed if they banned them this year. Probably a little late for that, but still, it is scary dry everywhere.
