I haven't seen it brought up and I know RAW won't bring it up, so here goes...

There was a nice little article in the Local Rag up here in Northern Utah about our friend, RAW (written by none other than Dave Scadden from North Fork, Utah - wherever that is, hehe!). Talking about what an amazing fly tier he is. I would just like to say congrats to RAW.

Thanks for the post DrewTrout.

I was rather surprised to see the piece in the Standard.

I have to admit that I have been a little jealous of Dave and his successes over the years. I've known him for years, but got to know him a little better that night at the library. He's pretty much like all of us...passionate about fly fishing. He's a great tier too. He has taught a lot of peope how to tie and enjoy fly fishing. It was nice of him to be so kind.

Other tiers in the Ogden area were mentioned. Some of you may know them.

Carl Yoshida: famous for clipped hair flies.
Paul Stimpson: expert on LaFontaine patterns. Pro tier of western flies (and more).
Mike Day: Pro tier, originator of speed techniques and tricks.
Mimms Barker: originator of Box Canyon Stone.

I've seen others who use this site tie. Many of you are talented, just waiting to be discovered. Keep at it!

I've got a buddy down in Ogden who works at the Standard Examiner who told me there was this guy who sat up his tying bench in the lobby of the building and told them he wouldn't leave till they done an article on him. ;o)

Seriously, congrats again and keep up the good work. I was able to talk with both Carl and Paul again in Idaho Falls last month. Carl also ties a killer Royal Wulff in sizes down to where I think he is just making them up in my mind.

Does the Standard Examiner have on-line articles posted? If so, could someone post this article on the Forums. I would like to read it. Congrats Raw, that's cool.

Scroll down about 4 or 5 headings to the one about fly tiers.
