All Hale the 6wt!!!

While fishing for post spawn Bass in Florida, I came to the conclusion that the 6wt is a "perfect" travel rod. I've taken it all over with me. I've fished in two oceans with it. I've caught many, many species with it. To me, it's a "do everything" rod. Yes, I'm over gunned at times. Yes, I'm under gunned at times, but I think if I had to have ONE rod, I think I get a 9' 4 piece 6wt. Oh wait, that's what I have....

I just got my first 6wt. A 9' 4 piece sage fli. Only fished with it once so far and liked it a lot. Got it mainly for stillwater, but will probably use it as a back up to my 5wt Scott G. The Scott rod is the only rod I've fished and feel it is a little "soft" when there is a breeze. But that's probably just because I'm a rookie and don't have the skillZ to get all the Scott has the potential for.

Caught fish on big streamers and size 20 BWOs with my 4 piece Loomis Crosscurrent GLX 9' 6wt last weekend while floating the South Fork of the Snake. Hoping to use it on Strawberry this weekend and I'll be catching bonefish in Mexico with it in 4 weeks. I've also used my 6wt for bass and pike in the past. Six weights are versatile rods for sure.

Kyle The "G" definitely isn't a rod for punchin flies through a breeze but as Cheech or Marty will agree it is a super sweet rod for a lot of other things. You should try the E2 Six Weight. I have one and love it!!

That the "all round 6 weight" could be the other companies 5 wt.....my opinion of course.....

I've got a winston ibis that mom got me for x-mas a few years back. Faster than most winstons, slower than most sages. I figure that makes it a good all rounder....

I don't know why you would use the E2 when you can use the Scott F. The best rod for punching those flys into the wind is the F series hands down. That thing has higher line speed than any scott:)
