I haven’t fished for several years, I am trying to get my skills back but its been rather frustrating in the waters I am close too. Ogden and Weber rivers aren’t very forgiving in the areas I know. Also my hook setting skills are pretty lame right now too. I was hoping I could get some info on waters that would be more forgiving for someone in my situation. I'm working on my casting with a Jack Dennis DVD, but putting it all together on the water is a different story. I’m not looking to hotspot anyone’s holes, but maybe with all the wisdom out there y'all might know some rivers, or areas of rivers that would save me some tippet and flies while getting the hook set down.

Any help would be appreciated.

jonny,

Lets go fish the Weber together one night. I live in Bountiful. I think the water you are fishing is great water for both beginners and those who have been fishing for some time.

With a little time you will be stickin the fish you once did before you took the break ;) If you would like to get together and fish some runs, let me know. I would be happy to come up your way and fish with you. I pass through O-Town often with my rental properties up that way.

Let me know what you think. As far as other waters, do you like to stillwater fish much?

Cool, sounds good. It is good water, the overgrowth is what I mean when i say unforgiving

Sorry for the last post I was hurried at work.
Still water is good for me also, I just got a South fork so I am toon ready.
I mostly fish the Ogden in the canyon and around the parkway, especially down by the parkway I have tree problems, I have this to a lesser degree on the Weber, I am not fishing the good spots on the Weber though, just around the Ogden area and the water is dark.

Thanks for the offer, I will need to check my work schedule and see what evenings im off work

If you haven't tried it, the south fork river holds alot of fish. It's my favorite river to fish around here and usually do stellar every time I go. If you'd like we can meet up sometime and I'll show ya a few of my favorite spots. I'm not an expert by all means , but if interested send me an email.
