I am new to tying and trying to speed up the process a bit. I am curious what techniques you veterans do to combine steps and if you might share a time saving tip…. I've been told to keep your scissors in your hand, lay out materials for 12 ahead of time. These are taking me forever to do; I am sure its practice, practice, practice
I am currently tying bugger/Stillwater patterns, mostly semi-seal and mohair patterns using a rotary vise and dubbing loop. Some of the questions I have are…
Flashabou and similar material - I can't seem to get it to stay where I put it and how much do you use?
Tails - keeping them level… do you wrap underneath the tail also? I have it all lined up then after I tie in the flash and start wrapping the dubbing it's now in a submissive pose, pointing down.
What dubbing tool to use?
Anything you might want to pass along with be greatly appreciated!
